INTERAGIR DANS LA DIVERSITE POUR LA COHESION SOCIALE :

Cadres et références pour adapter l’organisation et les compétences des services sociaux aux exigences d’une société plurielle 7-8 décembre 2009, Conseil de l’Europe, Bâtiment Agora, Strasbourg (France)

Le Conseil de l’Europe, en partenariat avec la Commission européenne et le Gouvernement du Québec, organise cette conférence – ouverte aux autorités publiques, opérateurs sociaux, migrants, chercheurs, etc. - dont l’objectif est d’approfondir les cadres juridiques et opérationnels, notamment l’acquisition des compétences interculturelles, plus à même de favoriser l’interaction dans la diversité culturelle, en particulier l’évolution des services publics dans nos sociétés plurielles.

Elle traitera essentiellement des thèmes suivants :

• avantages et limites du concept de l’accommodement raisonnable par rapport aux cadres européens de non-discrimination ;
• nature, contraintes et potentiel pour l’interaction des « accommodements » que les services sociaux et de médiation mettent en place en Europe;
• évolution nécessaire du langage institutionnel.

INTERACTING IN DIVERSITY FOR SOCIAL COHESION :

Frameworks and references to adapt the organisation and competences of social services to the demands of a pluralist society 7-8 December 2009, Council of Europe, Agora Building, Strasbourg (France)

The Council of Europe, in partnership with the European Commission and the Government of Quebec, is organising this Conference – open to public authorities, social workers, migrants, researchers, etc - whose purpose is to analyse the social and operational frameworks, in particular the acquisition of the intercultural competences more suited to fostering interaction in a context of cultural diversity, especially the development of public services in our pluralist societies.

This conference will deal primarily with the following topics:

• the advantages and limits of the concept of reasonable accommodation in relation to the European standards on non-discrimination ;
• the nature of constraints affecting and potential for the interaction of “accommodations” deployed in Europe by social workers and mediators ;
• the need to adapt institutional language.
